The feedback for the event was positive, a recognition of the effort by Julie Jetton of the NYC Bar for putting it together so quickly. Terry Rockefeller from Peaceful Tomorrows joined me on a panel moderated by national security expert Karen Greenberg.
The book has also been the subject of two in-depth podcast episodes, one by Lawfare Daily and another by SpyTalk; it was impressive how well the hosts of both shows knew the material and brought their own Gitmo experiences to the discussions. Michael Isikoff from SpyTalk, someone I’ve admired for a long time, also wrote an article about one issue that my book explores in detail – how the FBI played a bigger role in the CIA interrogation program than previously known.
I was also honored that the Voices Center for Resilience had me speak at their annual 9/11 symposium for its panel on the military commission proceedings.
